The Kingdom Friday announced its absolute support for the state of Palestine as a full member of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Speaking at the 36th session of the general conference of UNESCO, Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah, Minister of Education, leading the Saudi delegation to the conference, said the Kingdom supported and urged all UNESCO member states to adopt the decision of the organization's executive board last month to accept the full membership of the state of Palestine, admitting the right of Palestinians to their homeland. “How can we talk about peace and at the same time close our eyes to the fairest cause: the cause of the Palestinian people who just want to have a homeland like other people. Can you imagine the feelings of a person without a homeland?” Prince Faisal asked. “Saudi Arabia announces its absolute support to accept the state of Palestine as a full member of UNESCO,” he added.
