The services rendered by the Kingdom to the guests of Allah come with a responsibility, said Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah and Chairman of the Central Haj Committee, during a press conference here Friday. He said: “Almighty Allah has honored the government and the Kingdom's people by having them serve the guests of Allah. We take pride in the title of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.” The Emir is scheduled to launch Saturday a Haj media campaign entitled “Haj is worship and civilized behavior”. Over 30 government agencies and private organizations are taking part in the campaign aimed at educating pilgrims about negative behavior during Haj. The campaign will be launched at the emirate's headquarters in Makkah. Prince Khaled said the campaign has been a remarkable success since it was launched four years ago. This has helped the government and private sector provide quality services for the guests of Allah and has ensured that pilgrims can perform the rituals in ease and comfort. He said the major objective of the campaign is to make certain that pilgrims follow rules and instructions during Haj. He said the Kingdom wants to ensure that there is no overcrowding at the holy sites, stop pilgrims from sleeping in the open, and reduce pressure on the Grand Mosque and Jamarat Bridge. The campaign is aimed at educating pilgrims about how to perform the rituals properly and how to avoid behavior that is not allowed in Islam. Prince Khaled said the campaign will also send out a warning that performing Haj without a permit is an encroachment on pilgrims and the objectives of the rituals. He said the campaign is being carried out by the ministries of Haj, Culture and Information, Municipal and Rural Affairs, Health, Islamic Affairs and Endowment, Education, and Commerce and Industry. Other organizations involved include General Security, Civil Defense and the Presidency of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques.
