The Saudi Railway Organization (SRO) has granted a railway operating and safety license to Princess Noura Bint Abdul Rahman University in Riyadh, to allow transportation of students and staff on its purpose-built railway line. Abdul Aziz Bin Muhammad Al-Huqail, SRO's General President, said the license was granted after experts conducted a study and approved it. The step is part of SRO's efforts toward developing the railway sector in the Kingdom. The signing ceremony of the new license took place at the organization's headquarters with permission from Dr. Jabarah Al-Suraisiri, Minister of Transport and Chairman of the SRO.
