Lack of coordination between universities and the Ministry of Civil Service deprives 5,000 fresh university graduates of the chance of being considered for the Ministry of Education's posts for women. The Civil Service Ministry's website, which is the only way to apply for these posts, requires applicants to provide the specific dates of issuance of graduation certificate. However, most of the graduates have still not received their degrees. They have also not been able to obtain information from universities about the “day” of issuance as it would be automatically registered when the certificate is printed. The online application period has almost ended. The Civil Service ministry has said that candidates would be disqualified if any mistake was found in their applications Graduates of colleges recently brought under the umbrella of a unified universities system – after being under the Ministry of Education – have been able to submit their duly filled applications because their colleges manually produce the certificates and hence could inform their graduates about the date of issuance. Dr. Hisham Az-Zeer, dean of Admission at Taif University, said the University is trying to speed up the certificate issuance process, but many procedures regarding the dates of issuance and printing were complicating matters. He said the Ministry of Civil Service should have made it enough to require only the year of graduation instead of the exact day as well. – Okaz __
