Carlos Tevez has refused to comment on his Manchester City future on his return to Argentina. The 27-year-old forward was suspended last week while City carries out an inquiry into his apparent refusal to play during the Champions League game against Bayern Munich. Tevez got off a plane Tuesday in Buenos Aires but avoided speaking to a horde of reporters waiting to greet him. Barcelona star Lionel Messi arrived about the same time, did not cross paths with Tevez. Argentina plays Chile Friday in a World Cup qualifying match. Tevez is not part of the squad. City officials confirmed Monday that they are due to open talks with Tevez over the striker's refusal to play. City coach Roberto Mancini had said the 27-year-old's career at the club was “finished”, but the Argentina international will be given an opportunity to put his side of the story across. Tevez initially claimed he “didn't feel right to play,” but later backtracked and said the situation had been caused by a “misunderstanding”. He explained that he thought he had been asked to warm up by Mancini, but refused as he had already done so. After meeting with City officials, Tevez will not be allowed to return to the club until his suspension ends on Oct. 12.
