A former deputy mayor's admittance that he requested an ex-mayor to allow construction on a flood course is a contradiction of a statement he made earlier in the court that he did not interfere with any technical or engineering opinion regarding the Quwaiza residential plan, said the General Prosecutor at a hearing Wednesday. The accused previously responded to the charges saying that monitoring valleys and flood courses was not his responsibility when he worked at the mayor's office. However, he admitted that it was “wrong” to request the mayor to allow construction of Quwaiza and Umm Al-Khair which were later flooded by rainwater and suffered massive damage. __
