Sheikh, Grand Mufti of the Kingdom and Chairman of the Board of Senior Ulema, praised King Abdullah's decision to allow women become members of the Shoura Council and to nominate themselves for municipal elections by saying the step has “a lot of benefit”. “I hope Allah the Almighty grants us success in (our) Islamic country and makes us steadfast on the path of righteousness,” the Mufti said. Dr. Muhammad Bin Abdul Kareem Al-Issa, Minister of Justice, said the address laid down important policies for the country. “King Abdullah's speech set a vision for the future; a future that meets the expectations of all citizens. It focuses on the vital role women can play in the society and gives women an opportunity to participate in the Shoura Council and voice their opinions about different issues,” the minister said. __
