run, go-ahead homer in the eighth inning to help the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Florida Marlins 4-1 Friday to clinch their first division title in 29 years. Meanwhile, the Arizona Diamondbacks beat defending World Series champion San Francisco 3-1 Friday to cap an amazing run and clinch their first National League West title in four years. As well as Braun, slugger Prince Fielder also hit a homer for the Brewers, who came into Friday's game needing a combination of a victory and a loss by the St. Louis Cardinals to clinch the National League Central division. With the victory, the Brewers (53-23) have reached the postseason at the earliest date in franchise history. The Brewers are now one win away from tying a record for the most home wins in franchise history. Arizona rookie Paul Goldschmidt lined a two-run triple off Sergio Romo in the eighth inning as the Diamondbacks completed their worst-to-first turnaround in brilliant fashion, coming from behind to defeat San Francisco. The loss dropped the Giants five games behind Atlanta for the NL wild-card spot. San Francisco only has five games remaining. Astros 11, Rockies 2: Carlos Lee drove in four runs for the second straight game, Brett Myers won his fourth consecutive decision and the Houston Astros beat the Colorado Rockies. Lee's big night started with a two-run double that was part of a franchise-record six consecutive hits to start the first inning. The Astros took a 5-1 lead off rookie Drew Pomeranz (1-1), who was making his third major league start. Lee became the first Astro to have consecutive four-RBI games since Lance Berkman on May 30-31, 2000, against Colorado. Braves 7, Nationals 4: Dan Uggla and the Braves knocked around Stephen Strasburg a bit in a three-run first inning, and Atlanta helped its bid for a playoff berth by beating the Washington Nationals. Pirates 4, Reds 3: Ryan Ludwick's single in the bottom of the ninth drove in the winning run and the Pittsburgh Pirates came back from a blown save in the top of the inning for a victory over the Cincinnati Reds. Cubs 5, Cardinals 1: Alfonso Soriano dealt the St. Louis' wild-card hopes another serious blow with his first home run of the month, a tiebreaking three-run shot in the eighth inning that sent the Chicago Cubs over the Cardinals. The scheduled game between the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets was postponed because of rain. The game will be made up as part of a day-night doubleheader Saturday. In another game the LA Dodgers beat San Diego 2-0.
