The Ministry of Labor has directed several government departments to provide lists of their vacant positions so it can use them to hire Saudis. Al-Hayat Arabic daily obtained a copy of a memo in which the Ministry called for the lists as part of its plan with short- and long-term solutions to address the need to find work for an increasing number of university graduates prepared to work as teachers and those who hold post-secondary health diplomas. Adil Fakih, Minister of Labor, stressed the importance of providing the Ministry with the lists when positions become available so it can promptly hire Saudis to fill the vacancies Prince Mansour Bin Miteb, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, sent a telegram to municipalities and sub-municipalities in which he called on them to provide the Ministry with the required lists of vacant positions. Sources told Al-Hayat that the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and six ministries will study the problem of finding employment for the increasing number of university graduates and those who hold health diplomas, and suggest quick answers for the public and private sectors. The ministries of Health, Civil Service, Finance, Labor, Education and Higher Education will be involved in the study, sources added.
