Scott Dixon of New Zealand completed a pole to finish victory, never losing the lead to win the final Indy Japan 300, the 16th leg of the IndyCar Series Sunday. Dixon covered 63 laps in one hour 56 minutes 41.0107 seconds to beat championship points leader Will Power of Australia into second and American Marco Andretti into third. Dixon, who won by 3.4 seconds, picked up his 27th Indy car victory and second win of the season, breaking a tie with Rodger Ward and tying Johnny Rutherford for 11th on the all-time list. Power's 11th top-five finish of the season bumped his point total to 542, which is 11 points ahead of Dario Franchitti of Britain. Dixon is 59 points short of Power heading into the final two races – both on 1.5-mile ovals.
