The Ministry of Education is to distribute more than 5 million compact discs (CDs) containing curriculums and study materials to school students next academic year. The step aims to end the yearly pileup of textbooks and papers around schools dumped by students after examinations. The curriculum-on-disc project also aims to integrate technology with education. There are four levels of primary and secondary education. Academic initiation begins at the pre-school level. Then comes the elementary level catering to the educational needs of children between 6 years of age and 12 years of age. Intermediate level follows the elementary level. It caters to children from 12 to 15 age group. The secondary level caters to children from 15 to 18 and prepares them for higher education. Primary and secondary education is largely the responsibility of the Ministry of Education. – Okaz __
