The prices of frozen poultry have been reduced by 50 halalas, according to dealers in frozen chicken in the Eastern Province. The decision follows a recent announcement by factories to cut chicken feed prices, which is now being sold at SR100 per ton. Now 800-gram frozen chicken is being sold at SR9-SR9.25 instead of SR9.50-SR10; 900-gram frozen chicken now costs SR10 as against the previous SR10.50; 1000-gram costs SR10-SR10.50; 1100-gram frozen chicken now costs SR10.50 to SR11.25 and 1200-gram costs SR11.50. Engineer Hassan, a dealer, said that hypermarkets, supermarkets and retail shops have been informed of the new reduced prices, which came into effect last week. He said small-scale traders too had to cut prices in line with the decision of large companies dealing in frozen poultry. Engineer Fathi Al-Sa'eed, another dealer, said that poultry companies were now waiting for the next move from chicken feed factories. __
