RIYADH – Zain Saudi Arabia announced the launch of LTE 4G, which will allow end users in the Kingdom to enjoy a host of innovative quality multimedia services at high speed.
Zain Saudi Arabia, the third mobile phone operator in the Kingdom, claimed that the company is the first in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) to have launched Long Term Evolution (LTE)-4G network that will be initially available in three major Saudi cities such as Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.
However, the LTE coverage will be available in other Saudi cities by the end of this year.
Speaking at a press conference in Riyadh Wednesday, Engr. Ahmed Al-Fifi, Zain Saudi Arabia's Executive President for Operations, said LTE services can be subscribed for an unlimited MBB package for SR699, which is renewable at SR350 every three months.
He said introduction of LTE 4G represents a revolution in the mobile telecom industry in Saudi Arabia as elsewhere in the world.
Eng. Al-Fifi said the LTE technology, considered as the next step in broadband services offers ultra high speeds and supports multimedia applications such as video conferencing, HD content, video blogs and video downloads.
Other Zain Saudi Arabia officials present at the launch ceremony were Saud Al-Bawardi, Chief Executive for the Region and Abdullah Damer, Corporate Communication Director.
With the introduction of LTE, Zain Saudi Arabia customers will enjoy unparalleled broadband experience, besides several other services in high speeds reaching up to 350- Mbps, said Al-Fifi.
The 4G/LTE will enable Zain Saudi Arabia customers to use Internet (broadband) advanced services, such as sending and receiving files and videos, infotainment that include online games and many other services in high speeds, he said. __
