Los Angeles Angels starter Dan Haren pitched a complete game to shutout the New York Yankees 6-0 at Angel Stadium Saturday. Despite the loss, the Yankees maintained their 2.5 game lead over Boston in the American League East as the Red Sox fell 6-5 to Tampa Bay in 11 innings. The win enables the Angels to narrow the Texas Rangers lead in the American League West to 1.5 games. Haren allowed four hits and just two runners past second base while striking out seven to improve his record to 15-8 on the season. Following a lead-off single to Yankees designated hitter Jesus Montero in the second inning, Haren retired 18 consecutive batters until Eric Chavez singled in the eighth inning. Yankees starter CC Sabathia, searching for his 20th win, battled through six difficult innings and held the Angels to just one run despite allowing 13 base runners. Blue Jays 5, Orioles 4: Pinch-hitter J.P. Arencibia hit a game-winning single with two out in the ninth as the Toronto Blue Jays rallied to beat the Orioles, snapping Baltimore's winning streak at three games. Trailing 4-3 to begin the inning, Toronto's David Cooper struck out against Clay Rapada before Orioles manager Buck Showalter called closer Kevin Gregg (0-3) in to finish. Gregg struck out Brett Lawrie but couldn't close it out, walking Kelly Johnson, giving up a single to Jose Molina and hitting pinch-hitter Adam Loewen to load the bases. The closer then uncorked a wild pitch that allowed Johnson to score the tying run. Arencibia followed with a game-winning single to left. The blown save was Gregg's seventh in 27 chances. White Sox 7, Indians 3: Alex Rios hit a game-ending grand slam in the 10th inning to lift the Chicago White Sox to a win over the Cleveland Indians. Rios' one out, first-pitch shot off Chris Perez (3-7) was Chicago's first game-ending home run this season and his first career grand slam. Alejandro De Aza doubled twice, walked and scored two runs for Chicago. Gordon Beckham had a double, two walks and two RBIs. Sergio Santos (4-4) threw a scoreless inning to get the win in relief. Santos combined with Chris Sale to strike out six straight batters during the late innings. Shelley Duncan doubled, homered and scored two runs for Cleveland. Matt LaPorta added a two-run double and Jim Thome singled twice. Tigers 3, Twins 2: Brandon Inge hit his second game-ending homer of the season, giving the Detroit Tigers a victory over the Minnesota Twins. With two out in the bottom of the ninth, Inge hit a 2-1 pitch into the left-field stands off Glen Perkins (4-4) to give Detroit its eighth straight victory. Inge hit a game-ending homer on April 13 against Texas' Darren Oliver. His only other homer this season came in his first at-bat with the Tigers after an month-long exile to Triple-A Toledo. Al Alburquerque (6-1) picked up the victory with a perfect ninth inning. Neither starting pitcher was involved in the decision. Detroit's Max Scherzer allowed two runs on five hits in seven innings, while Anthony Swarzak gave up a pair of runs on four hits in six innings. In other games it was: Oakland 8, Texas 7; Tampa Bay 6, Boston 5 (11 innings); Kansas City 4, Seattle 2.
