Abdul Rahman Bin Muhammad Al-Dahmash, Chairman of the General Committee for Municipal Elections, has ensured that supervisors with issued permits will monitor the Municipal Council election process at voting centers. He said that all measures have been taken and arrangements have been finalized to guarantee transparency in the election process. He also confirmed full neutrality of staff working in the election centers. He added that the National Council for Supervising Municipal Elections comprising a number of civil society institutions will deploy supervisors in every election center on Sept. 29, the day of voting, to supervise the election process and sort the ballots. Al-Dahmash said the number of election centers has reached 752 throughout the Kingdom, compared to 631 centers during the previous round of elections. He pointed out that voters would cast their ballots according to the approved procedures and at the election centers where their names have been registered. He emphasized that registration of one's name in the voters' lists is a necessary condition for casting vote. The current round of elections has witnessed several amendments that will reflect positively on the performance of Municipal Councils, he said. __
