The Saudi Cultural Attaché in Washington has made emergency arrangements for Saudi students in the US in case they are affected by Hurricane Irene, which is expected to hit eight states in America. “The Saudi mission has signed agreements with US hotels to provide students with accommodation if their houses sustain any damage by the hurricane. We have set up around-the-clock emergency numbers and sent them to all students,” Dr. Muhammad Al-Issa, Saudi Cultural Attaché, told Al-Watan Arabic newspaper. Dr. Al-Issa assured families of students studying in the US that no Saudi student was injured when a tremor hit some states on the East Coast a few days ago, the paper said. Students have been warned against the hurricane and asked to follow instructions of local US agencies and authorities, Dr. Al-Issa added.
