Asian expats protest against salary delay Saudi Gazette report TAIF – About 100 Asian workers gathered here Tuesday, protesting against delay in salary payment. The protesters were workers of King Faisal Hospital and Maternity and Children's Hospital projects, Al-Watan reported. Security authorities intervened and pacified the workers, assuring them that their problem would be addressed. Hasan Al-Qarbi, project manager of the company, was summoned and the matter was referred to Al-Nuzha Police Station. The company had signed a SR400 million contract with the Ministry of Health for construction work on two hospital projects. Al-Qarbi refused to respond to media enquiries about the incident. Taif police spokesman Capt. Turki Bin Dhafer Al-Shihri said the operations room received reports on the workers' protest and went to the site. A member of the Wages Settlement Committee in the Labor Office will look into the matter. __
