Mohammed Bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development (MBRPLD), an innovative leadership program designed to develop future national leaders capable of promoting the sustainable development of Dubai, has announced that it has recently launched The Spectator Forum, one of the activities under its Promising Leaders program. The Forum helps empower the participants to discuss local, regional and global points of view on the operational policies, challenges and opportunities faced by leaders as they aim to achieve sustainable development. The innovative and interactive event is held periodically, leveraging the experiences of successful leaders in the society to galvanize the leadership skills of the participants of the Promising Leaders program, a level of MBRPLD that aims to qualify young leaders through training programs and workshops in line with the strategic plans and aspirations of Dubai. Serving as inaugural speaker of the forum was Kim Taylor-Thompson, CEO of Duke Corporate Education. “Dubai must sustain its enthusiastic approach towards sustainable development through the creation of a new breed of young leaders who will look after the affairs of the society in the future. We are therefore pleased to launch The Spectator Forum as one of the activities designed to enhance the level of expertise and knowledge of the Young Leaders program candidates through the experiences of internationally renowned personalities,” said Adel Al-Shared, director of MBRPLD. “This forum is in line with the vision of Mohammed Bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development to provide a systematic approach towards leadership development. Initiatives such as this also help distinguish Dubai as a forward-thinking society, whose ideals and vision are clearly defined within a comprehensive strategic plan,” he added. Taylor-Thompson said: “I am honored to be part of this landmark leadership training program, wherein I was able to participate and share my experience and insights on leadership with other participants of the Promising Leaders program who will acquire knowledge according to their age. We are honored to continue our association with MBRPLD, whose strategy has been firmly grounded on practical and sustainable terms, which I believe is crucial to ensure the long-term socioeconomic impact of its programs.” The Spectator Forum's inaugural session provided the 70 candidates of the Promising Leaders program a unique perspective on leadership, particularly within the government sector, and has been designed to consolidate their knowledge, experiences and skills.
