The Ministry of Higher Education announced Friday that 211,432 students have been admitted to universities up until Wednesday. The total number of seats available this academic year is 319,482. Dr. Muhammad Bin Abdulaziz Al-Ouhali, the ministry?s Undersecretary for Educational Affairs, said the ministry?s statistics, based on information received from universities, show that 108,610 females and 102,822 males were admitted as students. He said the registration process is going ahead as planned. He said the universities are working on admitting as many secondary school graduates as possible, especially in majors needed by the labor market. Al-Ouhali said universities still have 108,050 seats available including 50,166 seats for fulltime students and 18,132 for part-time students. There are 39,752 vacancies for those who want to study according to the Parallel Education System. ? SG/SPA __
