“Makkah Youth at Your Service” is a program that aims to serve elderly and disabled Umrah performers who cannot perform Tawaf on foot in Ramadan and have to use the wheelchairs provided by the Project for Respecting the Sanctity of Makkah. Makkah youth volunteer to help these Umrah performers without any compensation. They push their wheelchairs and in return Umrah performers pray that Allah reward them for their efforts. Saeed Labban, a volunteer, said, “We do this for the sake of Allah the Almighty.” Labban has been a volunteer for four years and he enjoys serving the visitors of the Grand Mosque during this holy month. “Umrah performers treat us like their sons and they pray for us. Their prayer makes us feel invigorated and makes our fatigue go away.” Sa'ad Al-Dawsri, one of the supervisors of the program, said, “Young men work in around-the-clock shifts to serve Umrah performers. They don't accept any money for this service from Umrah performers.
