AlMajdouie Group, the largest integrated transportation and logistics service provider in the Middle East, has selected HP Converged Infrastructure to provide a stable, highly reliable platform for increased business efficiency and growth, HP said in a statement Monday. AlMajdouie Group is a multi-business corporation covering logistics & supply chain management services – supporting oil & gas, petrochemical and heavy industries worldwide – among other sectors such as automotive, manufacturing (steel industries), food (bakeries and cafe' chains), specialized training and real estate & investment. As part of the corporate drive to achieve operational excellence across its diverse operations, AlMajdouie Group selected HP Converged Infrastructure, including servers, storage, backup and services, to provide a resilient, flexible environment for critical applications like Oracle ERP. The new infrastructure will increase efficiency by automating the company's business processes for more effective data management. AlMajdouie has deployed HP StoreOnce Backup Systems, HP EVA 6400 Enterprise Virtual Arrays and HP LTO Ultrium tape to provide an easily managed end-to-end data storage solution. HP StoreOnce Backup Systems streamline AlMajdouie's data protection by eliminating redundant information, which saves storage space and cost. Using deduplication technology invented at HP Labs, the company's central research arm, HP StoreOnce Backup Systems reduce the amount of data that needs to be stored by up to 95 percent. HP EVAs and HP ProLiant DL980 G7/DL320 G6 servers ensure that data is readily available to AlMajdouie's critical business applications, including Oracle ERP. For secure long-term data protection, an HP Ultrium Tape Library automatically creates backup tapes for off-site archival and easy retrieval in the event of a disaster. AlMajdouie's HP Converged Infrastructure is easily scalable to provide extra storage and server capacity on an as-needed basis. Ongoing efficiency, performance and reliability are supported by HP Technology Services over the next 5 years.
