At King Abdul Aziz International Airport he was received by Prince Miqren Bin Abdul Aziz, Chief of General Intelligence; Muhammad Naeem Khan, Pakistan's Ambassador to the Kingdom, Abdul Salik Khan, Consul General, senior Saudi and Pakistani officials and other dignitaries. Gilani is accompanied by Makhdoom Muhammad Amin Fahim, Minister for Commerce; Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, Senior Minister, Minister for Industries & Productions; Barrister Masood Kausar, Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; Salman Bashir, Foreign Secretary; and Akram Shaheedi, Press Secretary to the Prime Minister. Gilani is scheduled to hold talks Monday with King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, on a wide spectrum of issues of mutual interest to the two brotherly countries and global and regional peace and security. Earlier before his departure from Islamabad, Gilani told media that he would discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral ties with King Abdullah. Some of the issues that Gilani is expected to discuss with the Saudi leadership include an oil facility for Pakistan, enhancing bilateral trade and matters pertaining to Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia. “Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy bilateral relations in diverse fields and the Pakistani people hold the Saudi nation in high esteem,” he said. Gilani's visit comes close on the heels of President Asif Ali Zardari's visit here late last month.
