Saudis face fines of more than SR1 million in 43 traffic-related cases in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) which occurred in July. The General Prosecution in the UAE is looking into the violations which include blocking car plates, a criminal violation in the UAE for which a perpetrator is fined 20,000 dirhams. Saud Ahmad Azaya, head of the Saudi Nationals' Affairs at the Saudi Embassy in Abu Dhabi, called on Saudis to abide by the country's traffic regulations. The embassy urged Saudis renting cars to make sure the car is covered by the Salik service. Saudi drivers were also warned that if a car is parked in a blue parking space, a five dirham fee must be paid. If it is not paid then a fine of 500 dirhams is imposed. The speed limit inside cities is 80 kilometers and 120 kilometers outside, the embassy added. The new regulations of the government, to pay the dues of Saudis abroad, can include these violations if certain conditions are met. __
