Designs for the new ring road around the Grand Mosque have been completed, according to sources from the committee tasked with development of the area. They said it will pass in front of Bab Ali (Ali Gate) at the mosque's eastern courtyard, and through Al-Ghazza area, the northern courtyard and other expansions. The road will also pass through Jabal Al-Ka'bah Tunnel, Umm Al-Qura Road, King Abdul Aziz Road and Jabal Omar Tunnel. It will pass near King Abdul Aziz Endowment from the side facing Ajyad area. The sources said there is also a plan to set up bus stations in Al-Masfala, Al-Ghazza, Al-Bab, and Jabal Al-Ka'bah districts, and currently talks are underway with owners of 1,800 properties in the way of the project. The sources added that toilets were built under the former Ajyad Hospital to serve pilgrims and visitors. More toilets will be set up for pilgrims behind Makkah Construction and Development Company. __
