Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, has directed the Emirs to order the relevant authorities not to demolish any historical building without consulting with the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA). Prince Naif sent cables to the governors in response to a letter addressed to him by Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, President of the SCTA, in which he stated that some citizens are demolishing heritage buildings without prior authorization. Prince Sultan Bin Salman thanked Prince Naif for his directives to the governors, which he said reflects the leadership's determination to protect the country's national heritage.
