In response to the Royal Order to increase fodder subsidies by 50 percent to reduce meat, poultry and laban prices, Sulaiman Abdul Aziz Al-Rajhi, Chairman of Al-Watania Poultry's Board of Directors, has given orders to use the entire subsidy amount to benefit citizens and reduce prices of Al-Watania Poultry's products. Al-Rajhi commended the Royal Order and the continuous efforts of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to provide citizens with all means necessary to live a prosperous life. “Because Al-Watania Poultry recognizes its sense of duty toward citizens and their causes, it has decided to reduce the price of its products,” he said. Businessmen and merchants should be responsive to citizens, he added. “This country has given us a lot and it is time to give back,” he said. In his order issued Wednesday, King Abdullah thanked honest businessmen and also voiced the government's determination to deal with greedy merchants who exploit the people, pointing out that such merchants forget that Islamic Shariah ordered that justice be done and prevented cheating and swindling. Following the issuing of the Royal Order, the Ministry of Interior warned those who tamper with the price of barley and those who store it in order to manipulate its price that the ministry will take action against merchants whose activities are to the detriment of the nation's development. The ministry emphasized that it will strike with an iron fist whoever is found violating the King's order.
