Saudi math, chemistry and physics teams have completed training programs in Riyadh and Abha, and are ready to participate in the International Olympiads in the Netherlands, the Turkish city of Ankara and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, respectively. Training took two weeks and students were trained in two simultaneous workshops, Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Harthi, Supervisor General of the International Olympiad Project, said Saturday. The students, who reached this point after a long qualifying stage, received a full semester of intensive daily training, Dr. Al-Harthi said. They proved that they were capable of solving several complex problems and showed their readiness to compete in the events, he added. The math Olympiad, first held in 1959, attracts students from more than 100 countries. __
