actress Mai Kassab says record label “Rotana” was the reason she was absent at some stage, because it stood in the way of her artistic development. “Al Seyassah” newspaper quoted Mai as saying: “Rotana is the reason, it wasn't committed to me. In the end, I found myself getting nowhere.” Mai explained signing on with “Rotana” prompted her to refuse many offers from other record labels. Mai indicated she decided to self-produce her upcoming album in order not to keep her fans waiting. The singer admitted to the difficulty of producing projects, particularly in light of the current market recession. She added that she is not after the financial gains. __
