The Administrative Court here has ordered Jeddah Health Affairs to renew the Iqama (residence permit) of Abdul Rahman Awad Hussein, an Arab male nurse who works at the primary health care center in Thuwaal. The court also instructed the Health Affairs to pay the nurse four-year salary on grounds that he was never officially notified of the termination of his services. Health Affairs, 14 months ago, had refused to give Hussein a letter to the Passports Department in order to renew his Iqama. In his petition, Hussein said that the last monthly salary deposited in his account was that of April 2007 and that since that time he has been asking the concerned authorities to pay him. The court said that as per Article 38 governing the employment of non-Saudis, Hussein should be repaid all his pending salaries, adding that Health Affairs had refused to carry out the court's verdict issued on Sept. 14, 2010. Hussein said Health Affairs' attempt to circumvent the court's decision has badly affected him and his family financially and psychologically. __
