King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, received Dr. Nabeel Al-Arabi, Secretary General of the Arab League, in Jeddah, Monday. The two leaders discussed overall developments in the Arab World. In a statement to Okaz/Saudi Gazette later, Al-Arabi emphasized on the important role being played by the Kingdom in boosting peace in the Mideast and achieving global peace and security. He said his meeting with King Abdullah was extremely positive adding that the Monarch was keen to bolster joint Arab work and find just and comprehensive solutions for regional issues. He said the Arab League would continue to support the efforts of the Palestinians and their endeavors to establish an independent Palestinian state according to the pre-1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital. – By Faheem Al
