Hercog tops Larsson for title

Slovenia's Polona Hercog beat local favorite Johanna Larsson in straight sets to claim her first-ever WTA title at the Swedish Open in Bastad Saturday.
The 20-year-old, 53rd in the world rankings, exploited the Swede's shaky backhand to win 6-4, 7-5.
Despite some erratic play Larsson made a late charge in the second set, breaking Hercog to draw level at 5-5 only to be broken back in the next game.
Eighth seed Hercog then served for the match, dropping just a point in the final game as she claimed the title.
Rochus, Yani advance
In Rhode Island, Belgian sixth seed Olivier Rochus reached his third consecutive ATP Hall of Fame Championships semifinal Friday with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 victory over Australian Matthew Ebden.
Rochus needed only 87 minutes to advance into a Saturday matchup against 361st-ranked Michael Yani, who outlasted 394th-ranked American compatriot Denis Kudla 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 7
