A gang of 20 Ethiopian bootleggers was busted in the industrial area here and all members of the group including its kingpin were arrested. The gang was allegedly supplying liquor to five locations under Khamis Mushayt Governorate, a Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice official said. The kingpin of the gang was operating the distillery under the pseudonyms of Ibrahim and Mustafa. The kingpin was handed over to the governorate's police and investigations are under way to determine the locations of several distilleries and brothels he was allegedly running. Sources said the Ethiopian kingpin was in the Kingdom as an illegal migrant. In another raid in Abha Valley near Al-‘Amarah District of Khamis Mushayt, the Commission staff seized a liquor distillery. Two tanks and 36 bottles full of liquor were seized and destroyed. Meanwhile, the road security special forces arrested in Tabuk Region a group of workers for running a fully equipped distillery in a road works company. Many bottles of “Araq” were seized.
