With about four million Saudis traveling abroad this summer, and hundreds of thousands of tourists coming to the Kingdom to take part in summer festivities, Saudi Arabian Airlines is all geared up to provide efficient, quality service to passengers. Senior airlines officials have taken upon themselves to ensure that passengers face no problems in completing the required formalities. At King Abdul Aziz Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Airlines Deputy Director for the Western Region, Mohammad Al-Gabbari, and General Manager of Passenger Services at the airport, Talal Bin Hussein, donned the uniform and guided passengers to approach the right counters. They also ensured that the passengers did not wait for long at check-in counters. Engineer Khalid Almolhem, Director General of Saudi Arabian Airlines, pointed out that the summer season stretches for 108 days from June 25 to Oct. 10. Simultaneous with this is the Umrah rush during Ramadan and the ensuing Eid holidays. Saudia plans to cater to the needs of about 7 million passengers, he said. “This will be done with the help of advanced technical support and optimum utilization of manpower,” he added. Almolhem said the airlines has hired a specialized company to provide staff to work in the toll-free reservation center. The airlines has employed 400 temporary workers for land services, passenger buses and to deal with disabled passengers. – Okaz __
