State prosecutor Sunday leveled terrorism-related charges against 15 suspects including four military personnel who were additionally charged with treason. One suspect was charged with use of drugs, consumption of liquor and for using a mosque in the capital to conceal weapons. The suspects are among the 85 people being tried in the special security court for their involvement in planning and executing terrorist attacks on three residential complexes in the capital in 2003. Another suspect who worked at a mosque in the capital was charged with using its women's section to conceal devices used to make explosives. The suspects facing treason charges were accused of targeting an official of the Ministry of Interior and education officials. Besides, they were charged with planning attacks on two military bases. There have been three court hearings till now since the start of the trial on June 26. Charges against 34 of the 85 suspects, including a member of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (the Hai'a), have been read till now. In the court Sunday, 15 suspects were charged with joining Al-Qaeda; joining a terrorist cell that targets innocent people by killing and kidnapping; carrying out armed attacks against security men; following Takfeer (considering other Muslims as infidels), which violates the Qur'an, Sunnah and the consensus of the Muslim Ummah; participating in terrorist attack on three residential complexes in Riyadh in 2003; resisting arrest; financing terrorism; forgery; smuggling weapons; possession of weapons; and other charges. __
