RIYADH: The National Museum for the Blind (NMB) in Riyadh has begun implementing a codification system project for the visually-impaired. Jahz Barjas Al-Shammari, NMB's Acting Director, said the project will help make life easier for the visually-impaired and give them a chance to participate in cultural, sports and recreational activities held at museums and at tourist and historical sites. “The sponsors of the museum have been thinking about this project ever since the NMB was first founded,” said Al-Shammari. He also praised the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) for helping with the development process. “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Prince Sultan Bin Salman, SCTA President, for his constant attention and support for museum services all over the Kingdom and his efforts to make them accessible to all sectors of our society.” Al-Shammari said the NMB has the infrastructure to become a global museum.
