Rabeah, Minister of Health, has assigned a team of pediatric and neonatal consultants from Minnesota and the faculty of medicine at the state's university to assess all the maternity and children's hospitals in the Kingdom. The move by the ministry is to develop the quality of services, especially in the critical operating theaters and intensive care units. Dr. Taha Milabari, Medical Support Program Supervisor General at the ministry, said the delegation's visit to the maternity and children's hospital at Al-Moassadyia in Jeddah comes after a previous visit to the maternity and children's hospitals in the Eastern Province. The team will also visit the public maternity and children's hospitals in Riyadh. He said the team has evaluated the medical facilities at the hospital in Jeddah. The team includes nine renowned professors and consultants in gynecology and pediatrics. With this initiative, the ministry will improve the quality of hospitals across the Kingdom, especially laboratories, radiology departments and patient pharmacies. Training courses are also being organized for the medical staff to develop their performances and upgrade their academic standards.
