In a positive development for the non-resident Indians (NRIs) or immigrant workers and those wishing to go abroad, the government of India has agreed to set up a cell of foreign ministry in Hyderabad which will attest the certificates of the candidates. Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Minister for NRI Affairs told a news conference in Hyderabad that the cell will come up in the state secretariat saving the candidates from the trouble of going all the way to New Delhi to get the certificates attested. “Presently the candidates have to go to New Delhi to get the certificates attested. With this cell coming up in Hyderabad it will save a lot of time and money of these youth who want to go abroad for jobs,” he said. The state government has already established? a section for the attestation of the education, birth and marriage certificates of similar students. “But there are other certificates which have to be attested only by the ministry of external affairs,” he said. In another development indicating the growing significance of Hyderabad at the international level, the Indian government has okayed the proposal of the government of Turkey to set up its Consulate in Hyderabad. The proposal was made about 7 months ago during the visit of Turkey's foreign minister to Hyderabad. “ We will provide all possible infrastructure and other assistance to Turkish government for setting up their consulate,” Shabbir said. “Canada has also decided to set up its trade office in Hyderabad while Saudi Arabia was also considering a plan to establish its consulate in Hyderabad,” he added. __
