MANILA: Import Curtis Stinson recorded a rare triple double to power the Barangay Ginebra Kings to a 97-81 win against the Meralco Bolts on a rainy Friday night in the PBA Governor's Cup. Stinson had 18 points, 13 rebounds and 16 assists as the Kings notched their second win in three games, while handling Meralco its first loss after a 2-0 start. Ginebra and Meralco are now tied for third and fourth place in the rankings. Mark Caguioa topscored for Ginebra with 25 points, while Ronald Tubid and Erik Menk had 17 and 16 points respectively. Sol Mercado led the Bolts with 22 points. In the opening match of the double-header played at the Araneta Coliseum, import Arizona Reid exploded for a conference-high 34 points as the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters swamped the Petron Blaze Boosters, 113-83. As heavy rains brought by tropical storm Falcon continued drenching Manila, Rain or Shine likewise did not let up on the hapless Boosters, plastering their rivals right from the start and never yielding ground. Reid also had a whopping 21 rebounds and eight assists, completely dominating his Petron Blaze counterpart Jeremy Wise who was limited to 17 points. Reid turned in a double-double effort with 34 points and 21 rebounds. He also had eight assists. Ronjay Buenafe added 13 points for the Painters while Joshua Vanlandingham had 12. Rain or Shine took solo second place in the rankings with their third win in four games. Rookie Rabeh Al-Hussaini led Petron Blaze with 23 points while Arwind Santos had 19 points and a career-high 27 rebounds. The loss dropped the Boosters to solo fifth in the rankings with a 2-2 card. On Saturday, the Texters (2-0) go up against the Powerade Tigers (1-2) in a road game in Digos, Davao del Sur. On Sunday, the Alaska Aces (1-2) battle the Air21 Express (0-3) while the B-Meg Llamados go up against the Meralco Bolts.
