RIYADH: A housemaid here will not be able to go home on vacation because the Passports Department here claims she does not have a driver's license and has not paid a traffic fine for not fastening her seatbelt. Fawaz Al-Mettari, the employer of the housemaid, said he was taken by surprise when the Passports Department officer told him about the alleged violation committed by his housemaid in Jeddah. Al-Mettari told the officer that it must be a mistake, but was told that he would have to wait a fortnight for the mistake to be corrected.
