JEDDAH: Al Tayyar Travel Group and Al Shamel International Holding signed a MoU to develop their partnership in the travel and tourism sector to activate the mechanisms of integration and exchange of experiences and take advantage of the capabilities of both companies regionally in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and globally. The agreement was signed by Dr. Nasser Bin Al Tayyar, vice chairman and managing director of Al Tayyar Travel Group and Khalid Al Shaheen Al Ghanim, chairman of Al Shamel International Holding, at Al Tayyar Travel Group headquarters in Riyadh. The agreement is in line with Al Tayyar Travel Group's expansion plan to move forward with the development and the diversification of its services and expansion of their representation in several Arab and Asian countries, it said in a statement Sunday. Dr. Fahd Al-Jarboua, from Al Tayyar Group and Khaled Al Shaheen from Al Shamel International Holding will lead the team and set a timetable for the implementation of the Memorandum of understanding. Upon the success of Al Tayyar Travel Group in the acquisition of the new travel and tourism companies and has the capability now to move internationally through partnerships with more than 14 countries around the world, the partnership with Al Shamel will give Al Tayyar Group the opportunity to enter the Gulf markets, especially those of Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Oman and Jordan, through the branches of Al Shamel in those markets. In addition, both companies will expand their customer's database and integrate resources and capabilities to create a competitive force, especially to serve the major foreign companies in the regional targeted markets. Dr Nasser Al-Tayyar said "the group is working according to a strategic plan to expand and take advantage of the expertise of its partners around the world. We have always had a strong partnership, and it will get stronger through the signing of this memorandum, we will work in the next phase to activate this partnership and to take advantage of the capabilities of each party to further excel and integrate services in all parts of the world." Dr. Nasser Al Tayyar added that "we will also set up partnership in the sectors of shipping and accommodation." Khaled Shaheen said "we intend in the next phase to move forward with our strategic expansion plan to enter the Saudi market.”
