JEDDAH: The cigarette manufacturer Phillip Morris has raised the price of all its brands by one riyal per packet on the Saudi market. The company's agent in the Kingdom informed traders of the measure ahead of its scheduled introduction date of June 4 last week. Further rises in the prices of tobacco products are expected due to increased taxes and production costs, with traders saying that the price of a packet of cigarettes could soon reach SR10 after having being informed by various other manufacturers to expect rises in the near future.
