LYON: John Degenkolb of Germany won a bunch sprint to take the second stage of the Criterium du Dauphine Tuesday as Alexandre Vinokourov of Kazakhstan retained the yellow jersey. Degenkolb completed the 179km stage in the unofficial time of 4 hours, 2 minutes, 39 seconds. Jurgen Van de Walle, Maarten Tjallingii and Brice Feillu broke away in the opening kilometers, building a lead that reached 4:25. But they were overtaken by the pack 14 kilometers from the finish. The race ends on June 12.
