Treading the road to educational excellence, Yanbu Industrial College (YIC) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the University of Indianapolis, Athens Campus, to offer the university's executive MBA program to working executives in Saudi Arabia. The major breakthrough came when YIC's Managing Director Dr. Ahmed Dabroom signed the MOA with the Chancellor of the University of Indianapolis (Athens), Vasilis Botopaulos, on June 1. The executive MBA program at the University of Indianapolis is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). These accreditations represent the highest standards of achievement for business schools worldwide. Having these accreditations means a business school is able to continuously pass a strict set of standards that ensure quality. The executive MBA program will be a two year master degree comprising 15 courses of three credits each. Seven of these courses will be taught by YIC and eight by the University of Indianapolis, of which four will be taught at the Athens campus. The program has been especially designed for working executives and self-employed graduates in Saudi Arabia. To make it convenient for the executives to acquire a foreign degree from a reputed university at an affordable fee, YIC will hold classes during weekends and in the evenings on its campus. The semesters have also been carefully planned to minimize inconvenience for professionals. General eligibility for admission to the MBA program will require a candidate to have a bachelors degree from an institution where the medium of instruction is in English. However, TOEFL is not a requirement. Also, the applicants must have a minimum of five years of managerial experience or a good GMAT score to compensate for experience. The program also offers a chance for working executives to study on campus in Indiana (US) or at the Athens campus in Greece.
