RIYADH: The Chairman of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry has compared the capital of Saudi Arabia to “Bride of the Red Sea” Jeddah by describing it as the “bride” of summer tourism. Abdul Rahman Al-Juraisi said that the developments achieved in the Riyadh region were the result of the “support received from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Crown Prince, the Second Deputy Prime Minister, and the Emir of Riyadh, following the model of the other parts of the country”. “The Riyadh Shopping and Recreation Festival has become a great attraction and source of interest,” Al-Juraisi said. “The region holds many rich economic, natural, environmental, cultural and tourism treasures, and its events are always creative and of a high standard. The Riyadh Festival has become a major economic event, complementing the Kingdom's other sectors.” He said that this summer's sixth year of the festival, which is organized annually by the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce, would have “a lot of surprises in store”, and appealed to the media to help make it a success. “The media is a principal partner in all events and occasions hosted by the Kingdom,” Al-Juraisi said. The Riyadh Festival opens on June 29 and closes with its final day on July 28.
