JEDDAH: Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, President of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiques (SCTA), visited the Elaf Jeddah Hotel – Red Sea Mall as part of his commitment to support and encourage tourism organizations in Saudi Arabia in their efforts to contribute to boosting the national economy and promoting the partnership between the private and public sectors especially with regard to identifying effective mechanisms to improve the level of local tourism, promote the course of sustainable tourism development and maintain its quality, value and diversity. He was welcomed by Ziyad Bin Mahfouz, president of Elaf Group of Companies for Travel, Tourism and Hotels, together with Khalid Jamjoom, CEO of SEDCO Real Estate Development, Aidroos Al Bar, executive director of Emaar Arabia, and a high-level delegation comprising Tarek Nabulsi, deputy CEO of Elaf Group, Ahmed Hajar, vice president, Elaf Hotels Company, and Abdullah Al Ghamedi, head of Government Relations. After a tour of the Red Sea Mall, the prince was briefed about the various departments and its operations. Prince Sultan pointed out the importance of continuing the development of vital projects which boost tourism in Jeddah in line with the highest levels of quality and excellence, emphasizing the important role of hotels in supporting government efforts aimed at developing the tourism sector in Jeddah, and the Kingdom in general, which contributes to the country's gross domestic product. Ziyad Bin Mahfouz said HRH's visit was in line with his ongoing commitment to support Saudi organizations and consolidate their position as a key driver for economic growth in the Kingdom. He said this initiative reflects the government's total commitment to support touristic areas in general, and the Red Sea region in particular. "Elaf Group was honored to welcome HRH at the hotel. We confirm our earnest efforts to realize the ambitious vision of the Commission to achieve tourism development in accordance with world-class standards and boost the Kingdom's position as a leading tourist destination in the region."
