Nestle Milo emerges Afternoon Cup champ

Safri-XI by 22 runs in the final to claim the Prince Faisal Afternoon Cup, which was sponsored by the Saudi Cricket Center and organized by WPCA here last week.
Nestle Milo put on a target of 185 for 6 in 20 overs and then restricted Al-Safri to 163-9 to claim victory.
Nestle opener Faheem made 18 and Awais 11 as the prolific batsman Hassan Malik hit 38. Man of the Final Abdullah Zahid top-scored with 54; Abdul Jabbar remained unbeaten on 23 and Faiyyaz made 20. Sarfaraz grabbed 2-23 as Tauseef, Aftab Malik and Wasiq Sherwani bagged a wicket each.
Al-Safri in reply lost its openers cheaply while Aftab Malik hit 40 and Rehan made 28. Tauseef and Omar contributed 18 each as Wasiq remained unbeaten on 20 as the team fell short by 22 runs. Abdullah Zahid claimed four wickets for 16 runs as Faiyyaz grabbed 2-46, Awais 2-27 and Haroon took one for Nestle. The match was supervised by Nadeem Shabbir and Imran Assad as umpires.
A prize distribution ceremony was held after the final in the presence of officials from the sponsor the Saudi Cricket Center and the organizer WPCA.
The Best Batsman of the Tournament Award was given to Hassan Malik of Nestle; Best Bowler was picked up by Awais of Nestle Milo; Rehan of Al-Safri was adjudged the Best Wicketkeeper; Player of the Tournament was awarded to Awais of Nestle Milo; Man of the Final was claimed by Abdullah Zahid.
Abdullah Zahid of Nestle Milo was handed over the winner's trophy while the runner-up cup was awarded to Wasiq of Al-Safri. Individual medals were also given to players who played the final.
Morning Cup
In the Prince Faisal Morning Cup matches ATS, Usman Gems Tigers, Attieh Steel and Usman Gems Blue won their respective encounters.
Hala International School playing ATS put up 125 runs through Shani making 33 and Awais 26. Nadeem took 3-35, Mudasser 2-25 and Imran 2-20. ATS in response was home with eight wkts in hand as Ayaz Jafri made 45, Vivan 31 and Sameer remained not out on 31.
Usman Gems Tigers plundered 201-4 against Crown White as Farid Afreedi smashed 64 and Ahmed remained unbeaten on 67. Crown White in reply was restricted to 140 as Mohammed Qureshi snatched 4-16 and Ahmed took 2-31. Sadaqat made 33 not out and Atif 32 for Whites.
In the third match Universal Coil scored 157 all out against Usman Gems Blue as Asghar made 68. Zahid grabbed 4-23; Iqbal 2-31 and Kashif took two wickets for Blues. Usman Gems Blue in reply achieved the winning target of 161-4 in 101 balls as Sadiq blasted 57, Asraf 24 and Iqbal made 23. __
