The new set of officers of the United Tenpin Bowlers of Riyadh (UFTBR) was inducted into office by Labor Attache Rustico “Resty” dela Fuente. The simple ceremony was held at the Universal Bowling Center here recently. Inducted into office who will form part of the executive board and working committees were: Ms. Pat Nave (Chairperson), Mar Balmeo, Jerry Austria and Al Alfonso (Vice Chairmen), Ian Choco (Secretary-General), Fred Zacarias (Treasurer), Rommel Romano (Tournament Director), Freddie Solomon (Business Manager), Butch Mateo (Chief Statistician), Willie Ortega (Auditor), Rodel Canda (Extrnal Affairs), Butch Mateo and Shakur Kamlian (Technical Officers), Publication and Press (Ian Choco), Betsy Costumbrado (Membership), Allan dela Rosa (Information Tech.), Johnny de Asis (Ways and Means), Cezar de Mesa (Social Services), Vic Barrazona and Ernie Noto (Training and Skills Development) and Daniel Vallestero (Disciplinary Committee). Committee members: Benji Macatuno, Rodel Molina, Mar Reyes, Jun Bantug, Rizal Delosa, Rico Feria, Bella Sabico, Prima Abulencia, Fe Divina Gracia, Sara Vargas, Cecille Solomon and Ruby Urrutia. The event was attended by officers, members and participating players from the three big major Filipino bowling organizations in Riyadh, namely the Filipino Bowling Group of Riyadh (FBGR), Riyadh Tenpin Bowlers Coalation (RTBC), and the Filipino Overseas Bowlers of Riyadh (FOBR). The unity fun game was held after the induction ceremonies, with a 3-game series without handicapping on a “Moonlighting No Tap” game format. A total of 86 bowlers participated in the fun game with 22 lanes provided by the UBC. During the first game Noel de Leon of the Steakhouse RTBC pulled a total of 258 pinfalls, however, with Abdurahman Burhani's uncontrollable firepower took the lead after two games with 2-pin short for a perfect game. In the third final game Burhani after maintaining his lead pumped 276 pinfalls, thereby garnering a highest score of 789 and was declared as overall champion. Doy Moral got 719 points edging Ronald Bautista (717) for the 2nd Place. The consolation prizes: 4th place – Willy Nogoy (706), 5th - Andro Tismo (698), 6th – Joel Batolina (673), 7th – Richard Feria (669), 8th – Boni Manalang (668), 9th – Rodel Molina (662), 10th – Gigi Enriquez (657). Ruby Urrutia, who bested the ladies bowlers, was awarded a special prize. Major and special prizes were a Sony Bravia LCD TV (donated by FBGR) for the champion, Sony Wega 21” color TV for 2nd Place (courtesy of RTBC), 21” Sanyo color TV set from FOBR. Gift items for the 4th – 10th placers and a special price for the topnotch lady bowler – a Microwave oven from UFTBR Chairperson Ms. Pat Nave. __
