MADINA: The Board of Grievances will soon complete a special project that will ensure improved coordination between the judiciary and the legal departments of government bodies, according to Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Huqail, head of the Board of Grievances. Al-Huqail made the comments Tuesday evening during a lecture he delivered entitled: “Administrative courts and their relationship with legal departments of Saudi universities.” This was on the sidelines of the first Saudi Universities' Legal Departments gathering, organized by Madina's Taiba University. Cooperation between the Board and various legal departments will improve the quality of work and prevent delays, Al-Huqail said. He said delays are caused by the lack of professional and trained legal specialists. He said legal departments can improve by studying international experiences, pay attention to professional and technical legal aspects and find administrative and financial support. Legal departments should also identify their competences, create regulations on their independence, monitoring, training and also hold workshops. Al-Huqail suggested tasks for legal departments including carrying out defense cases in courts, supervising the execution of verdicts, looking into complaints and investigating inside their own bodies, and conducting projects related to bylaws and regulations.
