Russian President Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev has lauded the inter-faith initiative of King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. The Russian leader appreciated the outcome of the recent dialogue conference held in Makkah under the patronage of King Abdullah. In a message to King Abdullah, Medvedev said the Saudi-Russian political cooperation positively contributed in solving many international and regional issues and in maintaining stability in world energy market. Medvedev also praised trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, wishing to include more areas in the future, including oil, gas, energy, peaceful using of atomic energy, space, military and technology. The Russian president hoped that the partnership relations between the two countries will be developed steadily in all areas and in the interest of the peoples of both countries. Medvedev's message was handed over to King Abdullah by Russian Ambassador to the Kingdom Dr. Victor Cooder Yavitsev. The ambassador expressed his satisfaction over the signing of the protocol between Russia and the Kingdom on the former's accession to the World Trade Organization.
