Saudi Aramco hosted Monday some 100 local and international media representatives who have covered the Jeddah Energy Meeting (JEM) held in Jeddah on Sunday. According to Saleh Al-AlSabti, Aramco's director of publication and public relations, the tour is part of the JEM. “This tour is part of the recently concluded meeting in Jeddah. We were keen to give these reporters a chance to see the massive projects being implemented by the Saudi Aramco,” Al-Sabti told Saudi Gazette. The Khurais project covers three oil fields: Khurais, Abu Jifan and Mazalij. The Khurais field, with an area of 2,890km² and 127km long, located about 250km northeast of Riyadh, is the biggest in the project. Abu Jifan covers 520km² southwest of Khurais and Mazalij covers 1,630km² and is located southeast of Abu Jifan. In 2009, the project would add 1.2 million barrel per day of high-quality Arabian light crude to Saudi Arabia's export capacity. It will also increase the capacity of the Qurayyah seawater injection system by 4.5 million barrel per day of treated water for injection at Khurais and South Ghawar fields. __
